Dear Reader

I know I haven't updated my blog in a while. Truth is I've been busy designing it as you can see. (if you're using Internet Explorer you probably won't see what I mean since it for some reason doesn't show the background... I recommend firefox).

I've a few more things to do on this blog such as my music box and Links to My Manga blog.
So I'll be pending till I'm done with all that. Thank you for your patience :p

(Did any of that just sound like a phone operator... )

The Novelist's Tohru- coloured

This image was sketched by the Non-crowned Princess (here) in her blog and I felt like coloring it in since I liked the simple lines.

For the record Princess... the sketch itself was traced and I slightly changed a few angles and measurements for accuracy. I hope you don't mind.

Original Sketch

Traced

Coloured

BG Added

Of course the BG could be a lot better but I'm not fond of spending too much time on one thing.

What say you? Look anything like Tohru? :p
Hope you like it :)

I Will Get There...

An example of a heroine with stern eyes. One who never shed a tear in her endeavors. She still reaches out to her intended goal though it appears far out of her reach. Her torn clothes and worn out state of mind do not seem to affect her determination. Though she doubts she will get there, she still has a longing to do so. And this hand gesture and gaze mean that even though the chances are not in her favor, for some reason, the candle of hope still burns in her chest, making her determined not to give up.
"I will eventually reach you... One way or another..."

I was lucky to draw this expression... the sketch probably portrays her personality better because the coloring of the finished artwork is simple.
But it's the look on her face that I wanted to pass. They say actions speak louder than words...
This girl represented all the words I had in mind.

Come for Auditions

So we're setting up a poster to announce the timings of auditions for several plays. My friend came up with Sam says... I want you. All that came up in my mind after that was a witch pointing and staring. So I drew the adorable lady down here.

sketch

^The sketch is up there if you're interested.

She says, 'we'll be waiting for you'...

so what do you think?
would she make you want to come for auditions? :p

Magical Orb Remade

Zorac's a character from my story, the 2nd sequel to The Exes. A book that happens to be about 2 races, namely humans and Exes ( a race of my imagination). According to the story's past history Zorac was the father of all Exes and Eleanor was the mother of all Humans. Of course the events in the first book will be further explained in the second. Things that seemed mysterious and puzzling to the readers will be explained in the second sequel. And the history of Zorac and Eleanor is where it all started.

I drew the first draft of Zorac 3 years ago. (displayed below)

This time I've done a remake of him. (below)

I guess I'm content with the outcome and he happened to be easier to make than the last time.

Hope you like it :)

Constructive Comments?

I don't think such a thing exists with kids. It never really mattered before cuz I only shared drawings for the heck of it. Lately I haven't been seeing my friends that often to work with so I wanted the public opinion to see if in their eyes my drawings have improved. That was a big mistake. All I ever got was... awww that's nice.. orr... good stuff. I could tell either they didn't mean it or those are not grown ups commenting. It never mattered when I didn't need it... but it's starting to get annoying. Every time I enter a thread hoping to hear something useful all I get is a routine of nices and good jobs (which I think most just write to be polite)... I've decided to stop sharing there.

I was gonna ask about which forum or place to visit in order to get constructive comments from those who know what they're talking about. Well if anyone knows plz share.

In case you were wondering what I was talking about. The drawings are here.
I know what I said up there would make you readers afraid to comment now... but feel free.. this is my blog.. wont be expecting constructive comments here XD... lol.. here I only share for memoirs as a diary.

Update (New Leaf)

Well, here's the new layout to make up for the previous mess... I'm not gonna say I like the simplicity, the only reason I made it simple was cuz I'm not familiar with the complex codings... so this'll do for now :p

What I have to display today is nothing new... I haven't been drawing for a long while now... locked up in trying to animate instead... and every animated sequence I make ends up in the bin. The simplest of them all were these...

but to think that I have to draw 24 sequences to make a movie of one second... sounded demotivating... however... to everything a beginning eh?

Felix Diablus

I consider it my best yet. Felix Diablus... Main Character of The Exes. I've many other characters to illustrate almost in the same way... but this one took me around 12 hours to muster. The others will not appear to be any easier.

Btw... for some reason DeviantArt seems to be down with me... this sucks. My gallery's there... it better get back to normal soon.

Observations

Watch it, or be in it. Which is better in your opinion?
I'm the watch it type... barely meddle in unless called for. Hate being between things. But then again... that counts for everything else. I'm an observer in class just as I am an observer in life. Hardly socialize unless I had a specific task to do, then I socialize with those related. But if you leave me in the middle of a huge party with 100 people I don't know... I'll find it difficult to meddle in. But I won't mind observing, until someone actually walks up to me.
In class, once I just listened to the teacher explaining and asking the students to write down certain things and what not. I dunno why I just sat there listening and didn't take out my pen or do what the rest were doing. Most of the times I'm content just listening. I barely write unless it was something I don't count on myself to remember. Well... I was told off for acting like a guest rather than a part of the class. And well today nothing changed.

Behold my last digital coloring attempt:

quite proud of it if you ask me... but still have a loong way to go.

That's it for today. I've nothing more to add yet.

First try in illustrator

"Enjoy what's there today, for it may not be there tomorrow"

I was pretty pleased with my last Illustration on Illustrator CS even though I knew I could've put more effort into blending the colors... but I guess it already took a lot of patience out of me to try a completely new program...
This artwork's taken me ages... and by ages I mean endless hours because I kept deleting and recoloring... I guess I finally got the hang of it in a way... so hope you like this one... :)

Unfinished Sketches (Too scared to color)

I've started a sketch that's taken me almost a whole day to complete... this is a brief shot of how I started out... I wanted to draw a ressemblance image to my second sequel of "The Exes" showing the characters and the main idea of the story... what you see in this pic is what the story's mostly revolved around. Compasses, maps, castles, shores... well... it's complete now... I'm just trying to figure out a good way to color it... I'm just a bit too scared to spoil what took me so long.

Well I guess I can only hope this turns out well...

Is Pencil Enough?

I've taken to drawing sketches now adays... I know I've almost mastered this technique long ago... but going back to it feels good... since I feel like my coloring needs improving still.
Well... it's never been enough for me... I always wanted my drawings colored... but for some odd reason my sketches always turn out better.
I'll need to take coloring courses...seriously... to be able to color the drawings without making them lose their quality.

well... the above's what I've done throughout this month... :) hope you like them.

New Fashion?

These two models I used to try some new fashion...lol... sketches of how many different girls I can draw to find the perfect look for my story's heroine... I'm still not satisfied...

I'm on the verge of drawing something else... which's taken me around 3 days so far... hopefully I'll finish it on time...

These two I did months ago... they didn't take me long at all... but just a part of my daily routines of practice...

Been a While...

Sooo I guess I'll have to update after all... somehow I'm too scared to change the template of this blog and lose all my data :os... I'm gonna have to figure out how exactly it's done before I get on with it...

well it's been a while since I uploaded any of my recent artworks...

Nope!... it doesn't end here... dear bro moomad felt like fiddling around with this piece some time ago :p... and I must say he's done quite a good job...

Would you look at that!!...lol... I guess I'll leave him to fiddle with whatever he likes then... I really liked the improvement there :p

For the rest it's:

Dunno but I just liked this one!!

annnd lastly... another character...

All of them are just trials I'm going through to improve my character for my next book... The Exes II... I want to take out the anime look somehow and make it look more realistic... that I hope to reach somehow... (I wish JayJay was here to give me her opinion :( :(... I highly value it!!!... so JayJay, if you're out there please show yourself...lol)

Well... today I feel ....ok I guess... a bit preoccupied and ignoring it on one side... a bit moody on the other.... perhaps a mixture of feelings there... nothing specific...

well I hope you like what you see above :p...

exams are in a 2 weeks *panics*... (what in the world am I doing here?)

This Week's Work

Some are random and some are from my book... They're just simple ones I'm not exactly concentrating on especially when it comes to the coloring... I'm always concerned about getting their positions right instead... so far the progress isn't bad really... I was pretty happy with how the third one turned out to be... proportions are always a problem when you take nothing as an example... however, the overall result is close to the correct measurements I hope...

Listen To Your Heart

I was just in the mood to draw something new in paint again... the results were as follows:

This was edited in photoshop...

was trying out different effects... :

Somehow this one didn't seem too bad :p

Oh well... just the beginning I guess.... hope it serves anyway... :)

Relaxed

This was done 2 days ago... despite the relaxed atmosphere I was actually a bit stressed when I drew it... cuz I was supposed to be studying instead... but I know that under stress the only thing I could do is work on something I'm good at to get rid of it... once I'm satisfied and the stress is gone I'll complete what I started out with...
It may seem strange to some that the best drawings and sketches I've made were done in times of exams... or between finals... I've showed none here so far... until I find them in my computer I'll upload them here... as for now, I completed this and am pretty relaxed at the moment :p...
hope ya like it....

Relaxed's Steps... altered by Nabs..

Final result:

Much improved innit? :D... guess the added effects make all the difference, my thanks to dear Nabs once again ... quite the designer!... :)

You'll Pay/ Insanity

Yes, I made two drawings this week... the first was for practice and the second to express myself :p...
Although the first one took me much longer I somehow like the second one better...
Hope y' all like at least one of them anyway :p

Not alone...

Yes, I was bored out of my mind and not exactly in the best of moods due to two things...

1. I still can't scan my drawings & 2. My photoshop program just won't work...

so I ended up drawing this image in paint... yeah, the normal paint -outlining with the mouse... I must say it took me quite a while for the guy sitting in the corner... but the rest was pretty easy, nothin much to it... excuse the funky colors... hope you like it anyway....
